Our First European Vacation to Italy

Troy, Momma, Noah
Vatican City 2016
My first European vacation to Italy was in the last week of December 2016 with my brother, Troy, and our mother, Annette. Christmas Day (12/25/2016), we flew Delta from Montgomery, Alabama (MGM) to Atlanta, Georgia (ATL) and then across the Atlantic to Rome, Italy (FCO). We were only in Italy for one week and flew back to the United States on January 1st (01/01/2017) with a pretty rough ending,
but we filled every day of our trip with some pretty amazing sights. While most of our trip was spent in Rome (so very much history with the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Vatican City, Trevi Fountain, Sistine Chapel, Palatine Hill, Altare della Patria - the Typewriter and, of course, delicious food and wine), we also took day trips to Naples (beautiful coastline), Pompeii (humbling to see how quickly an entire city can be destroyed and rediscovered hundreds of years later) and Florence (Statue of David and original works of art that I had only seen in our history books before this trip). This blog is a great way for me to share our story with you and for the three of us to remember as we get older. Plus, maybe this can help you if you decide to take a trip to Italy. I know I'd do it again.
